The suspension uses MacPherson struts with steel springs up front and multilinks with AirMatic air springs in the rear. As in recent AMG models, there is a three-stage electronic stability program as part of an impressive array of driving aids that now also includes blind-spot assist and lane-keeping assist with a locking differential available as an option.

The steering is an all-new development using a modified version of the second-generation CLS’s electromechanical setup, offering variable assistance according to the chosen suspension mode, while the brakes are steel units all around. AMG buyers can specify optional carbon-ceramic rotors with four-piston Brembo calipers.
