The next-gen Mercedes-Benz SLK convertible has debuted in a lengthy 10-minute promotional video weeks in advance of its scheduled January introduction. Of course, in a world when the U.S. State Department’s secrets are available for wholesale download, the early leak of a commercial for a roadster hardly seems shocking.
What we see is a sharply styled two-seater, with design cues cribbed from both the C-class and recent iterations of the SL roadster. The F1-inspired nose is history, replaced with the bold grill and large three-pointed star that’s become de rigueur on sporty Benzes of late.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is redesigned with freshened styling, a new engine, and new features. This is the smaller of Mercedes’ 2-passenger convertibles. It uses a power-retractable hard top. Two models and two engines are offered. The base SLK250 has a new 201-horsepower turbocharged 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine; this replaces a 228-horsepower 3.0-liter V6. The top-line SLK350 reprises a 3.5-liter V6. It has 302 horsepower, an increase of 2 over the 2009-2011 model. SLK250 is available with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission.
I’m not sure about the below picture, it is still in teasing or assemble in production line. Or this is not the 2012 Mercedes Benz SLK
